Women of Curiam Capital

In celebration of Women’s History Month, Curiam Capital is proud to honor the progress made by women in the legal profession. We highlight two of our colleagues who have been instrumental to the success of Curiam Capital and to the field of litigation finance.

“I was drawn in [to litigation finance] by the challenge of helping to build another business in a world that requires creative financial thinking, strong client relationships, and deep legal expertise.”

Molly Pease, Managing Director

As a member of Curiam’s core leadership team, Molly leads our firm’s operations, underwrites and monitors single-case and portfolio investments, and supports our business development efforts. Molly previously worked as a litigator at Dewey Ballantine LLP and as Executive Director and General Counsel for two boutique litigation firms in NYC. Molly received her law degree from New York University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Cornell University.

Lauren Bernstein 805x805

“Litigation funding is significantly impacting the worlds of finance and law, and I am excited to be part of this rapidly growing area as a member of Curiam’s team.”

Lauren Bernstein, Director

Lauren manages transactional work for Curiam’s single-case and portfolio financing investments. With more than a decade of experience as a finance lawyer, Lauren also monitors and oversees our credit facility investments and assists with our business development efforts. Before joining Curiam, Lauren practiced in the corporate finance department of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP. She was also the Founder of a NYC-based technology startup company and worked in the legal department of an investment banking firm focused on the financial services sector. Lauren received her law degree from New York University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Cornell University.

As committed advocates for gender equity in the fields of law and finance, Molly and Lauren represented Curiam Capital at the most recent Women in Legal & Corporate Leadership Summit in NYC to discuss rewards, risks, and challenges for women on the path to leadership positions. Molly spoke on a panel addressing Motherhood and Career: Mastering the Balancing Act. Curiam Capital is also a regular sponsor of the annual Women, Influence & Power in Law (WIPL) conferences, which Molly and Lauren attend. Molly and Lauren are also members of the newly formed group, Women of Litigation Finance (WOLF).
